Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences
Welcome to the College of Arts and Sciences, University of Texas of the Permian Basin. The faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences are committed to providing an outstanding undergraduate (http://www.utpb.edu/cas/undergraduate-majors ) and graduate (http://www.utpb.edu/cas/graduate-programs ) formal classroom experience. We offer these classes as onsite face to face classes, or as online classes (http://www.utpb.edu/online ). In addition, we have opportunities for undergraduate and graduate research, and numerous opportunities for internships (http://www.utpb.edu/academics/undergraduate-success/career-services/students/internships) and study abroad (http://www.utpb.edu/academics/undergraduate-success/career-services/study-abroad ). The College offers extracurricular educational clubs and events, e.g., seminars that introduce undergraduate and graduate students to outstanding local, national, and international investigators from a variety of disciplines. There are many other informal educational activities, e.g., sponsored by the Jon B Sheppard Leadership Institute (http://shepperdinstitute.com/ ), and the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center (http://wagnernoel.com/ ), among others.
The faculty and staff are considered approachable and always have time for students. Many of our faculty have active research programs and regularly publish technical articles and attend national and international meetings. Our faculty and staff strive to become the programmatic standard by which other institutions will measure the success of their undergraduate curricular and experiential programs.
We encourage you to explore the diverse programs and educational opportunities in the College of Arts and Sciences at UTPB. If you have any questions concerning our programs do not hesitate to contact me.
